Heartroom in Dak Lak
On the way to Dak Lak
Dear friends!
In the last week of July Heartroom has carried out its latest charity work to the children in Daklak. These children belong to the H'mong minority group in Vietnam. Their families live by farming in the mountain areas and hence have no other income then selling the few crops they can grow. These children are therefore sent away from home to live and learn with the nuns. This is the only option the families have to give their children an education, mostly because they live far from any city and they cannot afford school money.

There were only 18 kids left, the rest went home to their family for the summer and come back in August when school starts.
The nuns give the children food, help with school and take care of them when they attend the local public school.
The children are from the age of 9 until 25, both males and females and none of them can read or write. The nuns teach them basic reading and writing, and help them with homework when the children go to school. As these children start school very late and need more help to learn than other kids.

We have been supporting this group of children since 2006 and this year, with your help, we can still do so. At Heartroom we pay the bills ourselves and the donations you make goes undiluted to the cause. At the end of July, Awale and I, arrived to see the children and the nuns.
The place is situated 4-5 hours from Nha Trang city. From our experience at the Thanh Son temple we decided to pack with us food and other supplies this time. From the 500 USD you have donated, 200 USD was for supplies and 300 USD was donated as cash. The list is follow:
